6 May 2021 – an update
Thank you. We re-opened on 12 April and nearly 4 weeks in, we are overwhelmed with your support and confidence in returning to the salon.
We continue to operate a two team system to allow plenty of space for social distancing between clients when visiting the salon. To do this, we open 7 days a week, 9am to 8pm weekdays and 9am to 6pm weekends. This will continue until 3 August, when, after 16 months, we will come together once again as one team and our opening hours will be amended. Of course, we will only do this if encouraged by dwindling covid infections and the lifting of restrictions on 21 June. We have used disposable towels for some time (before the pandemic) and since the pandemic have used disposable gowns too. Although we believe single use items are generally not ecological, we take your safety seriously and anything that cannot be disposed of, is disinfected after every client.
Magazines are no longer available in the salon, but we do have an app that can be used to enjoy all the usual reading in digital format. Likewise, we no longer serve refreshments in china, but in disposable cups and our usual selection of coffees, teas and soft drinks are available.
We have a number of bins in the salon for quick disposal of all single use items and various hand sanitising stations too. The toilet is available, but we do ask clients to adhere to the guidelines when visiting!
We have contacted all clients who had appointments booked during the lockdown between 31 December 2020 and 11 April 2021 and all those clients who didn’t have appointments, but who had requested a callback and are pleased to say that appointments were offered to all, albeit some well into June. However, we are also operating a cancellation list and have managed to ‘bump’ a few clients up to earlier appointments! If you have an appointment you can no longer keep, do please give us plenty of notice so we can offer it to somebody waiting to be seen. We do have a cancellation policy requesting at least 48 hours notice.
On a final note, we increased our prices by approximately 6%. We appreciate the past few months have been tough on you, but to continue to offer the highly professional services and products as usual, we had no choice. Apologies for this – we hope you understand.
